We are officially moved into our new office!!

We have been in our new office for a month, and we are so excited to see one of the final steps of our move in be completed.

Immediately, when we toured the office for the first time, this wall is nearly exactly what I envisioned. The wall painted blue and our logo in acrylic. I knew it would look so incredible and I was right.

After we painted the wall we had the team from Remnant Signs & Wraps come out and give us a quote. Their process was so transparent, and being a designer, I was fairly picky and particular about what I wanted.

But Ben and Stephanie were so great to work with and didn’t seem at all bothered by my questions or requests.

They came out today and got the signs installed.

It was like the final piece of the puzzle and now our move in has officially been completed.

Thanks for coming along with us on our journey moving our business into an office and out of our home.

The office is truly a dream come true and the sign looks absolutely stunning. I’m so jealous that Blake gets to have it behind him while he works every day!

Check out this flyer that I designed for a client that’s hosting a clothing donation drive!

They sent me the original design that a team member did in house, but they wanted to elevate the design to feel more professional and reflect the brand better.

I knew immediately that a Canva template had been used, and when the email came through, I was actually working in Canva, so I grabbed the template and updated the fonts and colors.

The client’s feedback was that it still looked like a Canva template to her, so I created a new doc in InDesign and started from scratch.

There are some elements from the Canva design that I liked, so I added those in!

Let me know what you think about the final design in the comments.

Welcome to the day in the life of a digital marketing agency.

Today was jam packed with design work and meetings. One of my clients wants to have team bios they can share with their own prospective clients. I ended up designing these in Canva, mostly because the client wants to be able to share assets and eventually get to a point where she can make her own edits to documents down the road. I had to watch a YourTube video to learn how formatting works, but eventually figured it out.

I worked on creating a flyer and then I did end up taking a quick break to paint over a spot in our restroom. I know the color doesn’t look right, but once it dries down it’ll be fine!

After that, I switched gears to work on another client’s magazine ad, and also made a few verbiage changes to the landing page we designed and built out.

The first client ended up sharing some more team bios, so I was able to use the template I created earlier in the day to finish those up.

I had a few meetings after that, but wasn’t able to film them. But, more importantly, we ended our evening at the Builders Association Blueprint for Tomorrow where I was able to share with everyone about a series of classes that I’ll be teaching this year.

The first lesson will be next week, and I’m going to be sharing how businesses can create 30 days of content in a single day, in a way that’s actionable and simple. I’m trying to help prevent analysis paralysis, burn out, and overwhelm by making it as easy as possible!

That’s everything I’ve got for today. Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you next time.

We’re waiting for some signs, but our door decal is up!! 😍
Welcome to a day in the life of a marketing agency owner.

Right at 8 am, I started my day in a meeting, and quickly switched into a second meeting at 9 am.

I had a content shoot scheduled to do an interview with a local landscaping company, and how on earth am I supposed to show what they can do in the middle of winter? Capture their showroom of course, so that’s exactly what I did.

That rack focus on those bushes was ✨ chefs kiss! ✨

Once I got back to the office I immediately started editing the video so we could get it posted today. It’s already close to 1,000 views combined on Facebook and Instagram, so not too shabby!

Now, before Christmas, I designed a trade show backdrop for one of my clients. One thing that I mentioned previously was that the design was pretty top heavy because anything close to the ground would be hard to read. I’m really glad I considered that because in person, all the text will be legible. And here’s the proof!

I worked on getting that exact backdrop set up. I was able to get it ordered before Christmas and it just arrived. Rather than ship it directly to the client, I prefer to have printed materials shipped to me so I can do a quality inspection before turning it over to the client, and that’s exactly what I’m doing here.

Here is the backdrop all set up! And even when a table is in front of it, those bullet points should still be able to be legible as event attendees are walking by.

Knowing I was satisfied, I got the backdrop torn down and now it’s ready to be passed off to the client.

Blake was also able to finally get our lights fixed! We tried to get some bolts from a local hardware store, but ultimately ended up having to order bolts online to fit.

Blake also got our dry erase board in our conference room yesterday, so I threw that clip in as well. It looks a little low, but in person, it’s a good height for me!

Thanks for watching and we’ll see you next time.

It’s day 8 of moving Jointly Studios, our digital marketing agency, out of our home and into and office.

My mom and brother came into town this weekend to celebrate our family Christmas, and they graciously gifted us the conference table we had been wanting to get, as well as some beautiful chairs to match it.

So we headed to the office so my mom could see the space for the first time and my brother got the conference table assembled.

After the table was situated I got the floor vacuumed.

We also got our diplomas hung as well. I put them in a hallway by our utilities room and restroom, which are mostly spaces only we’ll be using.

We also spent some time getting the conference room/photo studio cleaned up a bit and got our mounted TV rolled into the corner.

All we have left to do in that room is hang our dry erase board so we can use it for meetings.

Thanks for watching and we’ll see you on Monday for Day 9!

It’s Day 7 of moving Jointly Studios into an office and out of our home.

It was a long day, today folks!

Today was the day that we attempted to install our new light fixtures, and with every renovation project there are always problems that pop up, and today was no different.

Blake started the day by taking down the original light fixtures while jumped into a client meeting on Google Meet and then began to work on a booklet design for a client.

This is going to be 12-15 pages, and this type of work is one of my favorite things to work on.

Blake continued working on pulling down the rest of the lights, and his dad came out to help him get the other lights installed. But of course, some issues arose when screws got stripped, the metal frame in one of the lights got stripped, and the wiring on another light caused the light to flicker.

We also had some issues with the switch not having a ground wire, so the new switch is going to have to be returned.

We were able to get our printer and new water cooler set up.

The lights made a huge mess on the floor, so I ended the night by sweeping up all the dust. We had to leave the outlet hanging from the wall until our new switch comes in, and we will have to get some new bolts to attach the corners of a few of the lights to the ceiling.

Overall, it was a productive day!

Happy New Years and we’ll see you on Friday for Day 8!

It’s Day 6 of moving Jointly Studios into an office and out of our home!

When we got to the office today, we were mostly waiting for our modem to be delivered from Comcast. Admittedly, they aren’t our first choice but they are the only internet provider where we’re at.

Since we were waiting around we took the time to get some work done, which means we had to put our desks together.

We’ve been avoiding doing that in an attempt to wait for our new light fixtures, but we couldn’t really put it off anymore.

We figured out how we wanted to configure our desks, storage drawers, and monitors.

We got our double stacked monitors set up on the counter and I was able to empty a couple bins, and get some things put away, so we are slowly clearing out our conference room/photo studio.

I also have a curtain to hang to hide the storage in our closet.

We did also get some work done today.

I am in the process of ordering signs, so for the first time, I had to find the @pantone swatches for our Jointly branding. I’m very happy with the color matches. Pantone is a color swatch brand and is the industry standard. Sharing the PMS code with vendors ensures that our printed materials have the same colors across different touch points and they stay consistent.

I struggled trying to find a color match for the dark blue, but I eventually found one.

We are going simple for our sign design opting to make our logo as big as possible. We aren’t including any extra details because if people are coming to visit us, they most likely already know what we do, so we don’t want to use it for advertising. Just more of a “hey, this is where we are!”

Thanks for watching and we’ll see you tomorrow to install our new lights and get our water cooler set up!
